Do not give up on your health

Do not give up on your health

I often hear people say that they don’t have the time to exercise or prepare healthy meals.

It also echoes in my mind, words that the old me surely repeated often.

I must stress my view of time:

We don’t HAVE time.

Time has us… It’s not like there is a way for a human being to decide to have more hours in a day or to have more days in a week (or more preferably, a weekend! ).

The only decision we can make relating to time is how we use it.

It all comes down to priorities, and it can be a long and painful lesson:

YOU, and only you, decide how your time gets used.

For instance, many of us spend a fair amount of time watching TV most days.

Think about the amount of time you spend looking at your computer, phone, and other devices daily. Do we really want to add to that?

When’s the last time you went for a walk to the local park?

When’s the last time you didn’t look for parking right at the door of the mall?

When’s the last time you carried your shopping parcels instead of using a trolley?

When’s the last time you took the stairs?

When’s the last time you stood up from your chair every 40 minutes and stretched your back, neck and shoulders?

Answer these questions and decide for yourself whether your level of physical activity is sufficient. Nobody else can decide for you!

The above comments are very simple ways you can increase your level of physical activity without it having a real impact on your schedule.

Once you get cracking with these, it is time to move on to some real exercise. More on that later!

In most cases you are the only person responsible for your health – don’t let it reflect poorly on you!
